Reducing the Impact on the Planet, Economy, and Society using Technology and Knowledge

Utilizing a balanced solutions approach of service, chemistry, and equipment, Crown is dedicated to the goal of developing sustainable solutions. With the ever-increasing demand for energy and water resources, sustainable solutions are a vital requirement.

  • Reduce Water Usage & Wastewater Generation: Water Footprint
  • Reduce Energy Consumption: Carbon Footprint
  • Develop Environmentally Friendly Programs: Environmental Footprint

Carbon Footprint

Resource efficiency and sustainability are driving changes in many businesses, and Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies (VWS) is committed to staying at the leading edge of sustainable offerings. VWS actively pursues a strategy to deliver environmentally conscious and innovative water technologies and solutions, meeting the diverse needs of both municipalities and industry.

Water Impact Index

Veolia Water has unveiled the Water Impact Index, the first indicator enabling a comprehensive assessment of the impact of human activity on water resources. It is a tool that can help cities and companies plan long-term projects and better understand sustainable approaches to ensure long-term water supplies and healthy water ecosystems.

Bringing Value and Confidence to our Customers, Employees, and Communities

Crown has many technologies to reduce energy consumption, conserve water, reduce waste, and minimize effects on the environment.

Water Reuse & Recycling

By understanding the production process and water quality needs, solutions can be developed to allow wastewater from one process to be reused or recycled back into the system. This can be accomplished using ion exchange, membranes, precipitation programs, filtration, chemical treatment, etc.

Green Chemistries

Utilizing green chemistries that are biodegrable and/or nontoxic have a positive impact on the environment. Examples include green scale inhibitors, flocculants, and cleaners. Veolia has partnered with GreenCentre Canada for enhanced, cutting-edged green chemistry offerings. Click here to view our brochure on green solutions from HydrexTM.

Zero Liquid Blowdown (ZLB)

Zero Liquid Blowdown (ZLB) is a patented cooling-water technology that allows for high-TDS water by incorporating the use of natural chemistry to achieve superior corrosion, scale, and microbiological control. This natural chemistry approach enables companies to reduce their water, environmental, and carbon footprints versus the traditional cooling water treatment options. Solid Blend Technology

Reducing freight and handling requirements can reduce the environmental impact of a chemical program. Solid blend technologies signficantly reduces freight cost, waste generation, and handling hazards.

Reverse Osmosis

Using reverse osmosis (RO) for boiler pretreatment maximizes boiler cycles of concentration and minimizes makeup water required. The end result is lower water and chemical costs, reduced fuel costs, and typically cleaner heat transfer surfaces and improved steam purity.

Condensate Polishers

Boiler condensate is a high-purity, high-energy, high-value water. Utilizing polishing equipment to remove objectionable impurities can greatly reduce costs and increase efficiency.

Brine Recovery

Water softener brine usage can be reduced by recovering and reusing the end of the previous brining cycle. Incorporating a Brine Recovery system in a water softener setup can reduce brine costs and reduce the amount of brine going down the drain.
